Health and Biosecurity

At Inverbrackie we aim to uphold a high standard of health and biosecurity to not only protect ourselves but also our clients.

2023 SA Biosecurity Farmer of the Year!

In November 2023 we were very pleased to be announced the winners of the inaugural ‘ SA Biosecurity Farmer of the Year Award’ by Livestock SA. We are continually evaluating the risks in the world of on-farm biosecurity and implementing prevention strategies as we see fit. Some of this involves using disinfectant footmats when people enter the farm and sheds, having double fences to neighbouring livestock, quarantining any new or returning stock (rams only- and from accredited studs).

OJD Accreditation

Ovine Johnes Disease plays quite a risk to the sheep industry and we have maintained the highest accreditation of MN3-V since 2004, reflecting that we have an extremely low risk of the disease. These audits are completed annually by a vet to ensure compliance.

Brucellosis Accreditation

Every second year a vet inspects all the rams on the property for brucellosis and blood test of worker rams to maintain our brucellosis free accreditation status.
